MANCHESTER’S MUSICIANS have been paying tribute to the victims of last night’s explosion as the city tries to make sense of the tragic events.

Manchester has a rich musical history and produced many iconic acts over the years, from Oasis to Joy Division to The Smiths.

The title of the latter’s 1986 single There Is A Light That Never Goes Out has become a mantra for Mancunians today.

The attack on the Manchester Arena has resonated with members of the local music scene, who have been paying their respects on Twitter.

Police have confirmed that children were among the 22 victims of the blast last night, with a further 59 taken to hospital with injuries.

The incident is being treated as an act of terror – British Prime Minister Theresa May has described it as “appalling and sickening”.
